Ellie: "Sarah you put a kleenex like this, then pull really hard, now you try it."
Sarah: "I can't, I'm just little."
Ellie: "Just try, you can do it."
Sarah: "Okay...oh I didn't get it, I can't."
At this point I realize the lesson being taught; Elisabeth has been trying to get rid of her two front teeth for a week. I get a chance to tug every once and awhile, the last time I seriously loosened one.
Me (from the other room): "Sarah try one more time and pull it really hard."
Sarah: "Okay!"
Ellie: "Ow, you didn't get it."
Sarah: "I did it!"
Ellie: "No you didn't!"
Sarah: "I did, it's right here."
And it was; right there in her hand. Sarah pulled Elisabeth's front tooth. We kept it from Jed until he rolled in that night, but Sarah just couldn't hold it she blurted out she pulled Ellie's tooth. Jed called her "a dentist". She insisted she was not, and "just a little girl".
