Derby is one of my favorite times in Kentucky, you can literally feel the excitement for weeks surrounding it. We had a great time celebrating the Kentucky Derby with friends the first weekend of this month. There were games and prizes, great food and company. Someday I will make it to the track and be able to wear a fancy hat and dress of my own.
Ellie had her Preschool graduation. Her class acted out Noah's Ark. Ellie was a cat (because it was pink-naturally). She loved her class and especially her teacher, Miss Susan. She often asks about the kids in her class, she built some great friendships there.
Ellie also had her annual dance recital. She did two dances this year: a tap and ballet. Despite her mother having her in the wrong places at the wrong times she acted un-phased and danced great. She cried when it was all over and she had to say good-bye to her teacher, Miss Mary-Jane, for the summer. My favorite part: listening to her practice and sing, "The Good Ship Lollipop"over and over. Sometimes she sang the real words, most of the time she made up words for whatever she was doing.
We took a trip to Ohio to say good-bye to our good friend Porter before he went into the MTC. It's always fun to see the Jenkins. We stayed with the kids over Memorial Day and had fun playing with them.
I had the most ridiculously amazing shower thrown for me. I have some crazy talented friends and this party was perfect. Thank you, thank you! They decided to outfit a little boy nursery for me (plus some), since this was my first boy. It literally brought me to tears that I have such giving friends. I need to submit all their labor to an online blog like Tip Junkie so all of their work can get more recognition, any other blog suggestions?
