First Day of First

It is the first day of First Grade for Elisabeth, she seemed pretty excited especially that she didn't have to ride the bus to school for the first day. We had Peanut Butter French Toast with whipped cream (at her request) and Jed painted her fingernails this morning (which will probably become a yearly tradition because she liked it so much). We took pictures and said good-bye then waved until the car was gone. Sarah and I made our way back inside and sat down to finish our breakfast. Sarah looked at me and this was our conversation:

Sarah: "That was weird"
Mom: "What was weird?"
Sarah: "Saying good-bye to Ellie. We will miss her, won't we?"

I think my three year old thinks she is 16; but, yes Sarah, we will miss her. I just can't believe how fast time goes.

*Elisabeth returned home with a glowing report, she thinks first grade is even better than Preschool! Believe me when I say, that is a big compliment in her book!
